In the article, The sexiest double standard millennials love Bernie Sanders the author states that much of the current conversation about Sanders’s “democratic socialism” is predicated on whether Americans can look past this supposedly toxic label. But millennials love Sanders not despite his socialism, but because of it. Perhaps for this reason, millennials actually seem to prefer socialism to capitalism.

This impacts the world because people are not caring about the socialism of this situation. But if this is what people believe in than let them believe what they want.

In the article, “A strong independent president candidate would be a nightmare” they state that having a strong independent president would be a bad idea. Some reasoning is, First of all religous beliefes and being Democratic and republican. For a independent candidate, at best it would mean 3 candidates splitting the popular vote, roughly a third apiece, with the independent edging out the others with at least 35 percent.
This effects the world because not everyone has the same beliefes, and not everyone believes that there should be such a strong independent president. I agree with this because everyone deserves equal rights.

It is that time of year again for people to make unrealistic new years resolutions. Washington Post author, Wendy Wood, says that a lack of willpower is to blame for our bad habits. She also states that the best way to change a habit is to set realistic goals. I agree with this opinion because if you set realistic goals, you’re more likely to achieve and carry them out.

This affects me because I need to learn how to make realistic goals that i can achieve. For example, I set a goal to be on varsity in volleyball, but I should only work to be the best I can. This also affects the world because if people make more realistic goals they would not be so insecure about themselves and how they look.

Earlier this week an 8 year old kid has committed a murder to a 1 year old child, CNN News reports. They say the mother left the roommate in charge of the too young kids. She ended up leaving around 11:00 pm when she thought they were fast asleep. The 1 year old child ended up then screaming crying waking up in the middle of the night. At first the 8 year old boy was not disturbed by the crying, then he began to grow more annoyed. He then got out of bed and beat the 1 year old kid to its death. This effects me because it shows that some adults are not responsible. Also because kids are starting to do crazy things now days. This effects the world because sooner or later this could start happening all over the world.

Fox News reports there has been a women dead with a gun wound to the head. In the article, “Police search for cold blooded killer of pregnant wife of Indiana Pastor” a women has been shot and they are now searching for the terrible person that has killed her. She was found lying dead on a gym floor at 8:30 the next morning. Amanda was also 12 weeks pregnant when shot. This effects the world because innocent people are being killed. This effects me because people are getting crazy these days and I have no clue why some would want to kill anyone.

“Next Fall a teacher from Leaguetown High School will be participating in the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program. Charla Klein will be spending the fall semester teaching in Scotland while Lorraine Schouler will take her place.

While some parents are excited for Ms.Klein, others are worried about their kids not being able to be prepared for the TAKS test.

“We are happy for Ms.Klein, but some parents, like myself, are questioning whether a teacher from a foreign country can prepare our students for the TAKS test,” Oscar Ramirez said.

This will be a very great opportunity for her.

“The math department will work with Mr.Dubes and Ms.Klein to ensure that she has all of the support that she needs,” Janelle Vander said. “We certainly will miss Ms.Klein, but this is an exciting opportunity for her.”

Charla is so excited to experience teaching in another country. She cant wait to tell all the kids about Texas culture either.

“It’s going to be exciting and interesting to see the differences between a national curriculum and what we have as a state,” Charla Klein said. “I hope that i can share some of my Texan culture with my students and the school.”

Some students who struggle in math hope to get through this.

“I am a little anxious about Ms.Klein leaving,” Freshman Melissa Staff said. “I’ve always struggled with math, but Ms.Klein explains things in a way i can understand.”

Being selected into this program is very exciting and a big accomplishment.

“We are proud of Mrs.Klein’s accomplishment,” Principal Dubes said. “Being selected into this prestigious program is quite an honor.
